How we run this job
Packing is where moves are won or lost. A well-packed home loads faster, rides better, and unloads into rooms instead of into a pile. A rushed one produces the two calls nobody wants to make: the broken-plates call and the where-is-the-coffee-maker call. You can hand us the whole job, half of it, or just the boxes.
Full packing means a crew arrives the day before your move and packs everything — closets, kitchen, garage, the drawer of cables nobody has opened since 2019. Partial packing is more common and usually smarter: we take the kitchen, the glassware, the artwork, the electronics, and the lamps, and you handle clothes, books, and linens, which are the easy wins for a non-professional.
Materials matter more than technique. Dishes go in dish barrels with cell dividers, not in a bottom-loaded book box. Glassware gets rolled in unprinted newsprint so ink does not transfer. Artwork and mirrors travel in adjustable picture cartons with corner protection. Televisions ride in their original box when you kept it and in a padded flat-screen carton when you did not. We deliver supplies ahead of time if you want to pack yourself, and we charge what they cost us.
Unpacking is the half people skip and later wish they had booked. The crew places boxes in the correct rooms, unpacks to flat surfaces, rebuilds beds, assembles what we disassembled, and hauls away every empty carton and every sheet of paper the same day. Walking into a home without a wall of cardboard in the living room is worth the hour or two it takes.
What it costs
Packing labor billed hourly; materials at cost with no markup on used-only boxes. Pads, shrink wrap, dollies, floor runners, and standard disassembly and reassembly are part of the rate. The travel fee is a single flat charge quoted before you book, and nothing is added after the job.
Common questions
One day before the move for a full pack of a house, same morning for an apartment. Packing and loading on the same day works for small homes but compresses the schedule; for anything over two bedrooms the day-before pack is the safer plan.
Yes, when you book unpacking. The crew flattens and removes every carton and all the paper before leaving. If you packed yourself and just want the debris gone later, we can schedule a pickup run.
You can. We deliver boxes, tape, paper, and wardrobe cartons to your door at our cost, and we take back whatever you do not open. Most people underestimate small boxes and overestimate large ones by about the same margin.
